A Russian Hydrographic Department Ship's 8-Day Bulkhead Clock No.488 in heavy circular brass case with external winding (below VI), white enamel dial, the outer chapter with black Roman hour numerals I-XII, inner chapter with red Arabic hour numerals 0 - 13 - 23, dial diameter -- 5½in. (14cm.); and a ships bulkhead aneroid barometer in a circular brass case, the painted dial graduated in inches and with arc thermometer graduated Fahrenheit and signed Kelvin, Bottomley & Baird Ltd. Glasgow mounted on mahogany plaque. Dial diameter -- 5½in. (14cm.) The clock movement has a similar lay-out to that of a timepiece carriage clock. It is a good construction with a jewelled platform escapement. It is signed and numbered as on the dial (2)
