A RARE POLISH SABRE with curved single-edged blade with yelman and two wide fullers on each face, the forte etched on each face with a horseman in mid-17th Century costume, an arm holding flowers issuing from a cloud, and Latin inscriptions, and iron hilt of characteristic form comprising straight tapering quillons of oblong section, slender langets and flat pommel-cap, and beaked wooden handle (slightly wormed) bound with cord covered with leather (rubbed), in wooden leather-covered scabbard (slightly wormed, leather defective) with iron mounts comprising deep open chape and two pairs of narrow iron lockets carrying suspension rings and part of a leather belt, mid-17th Century 33in. blade [E.36
