Action inlaid with gold bands front and back, engraved with broad scrolls and lappet borders and with game scenes; left side with a bear, the right with two stags and hunter. Scroll-engraved hammer. Blued finish. Buttplate with scroll-engraved panel and gold banding. Figured walnut stock and fore-end checkered in Style D with oak leaves. Left side of buttstock set with unengraved shield-shaped escutcheon. Sling swivel mounts missing the rings. Condition: Excellent. Barrel with 95 percent plus blued finish showing some light pitting at muzzle. Action retains 90 percent blue showing edge wear. Fine wood showing scattered light marks. See Illustration
