A Punch'ong Stoneware Bowl Choson Period (15th-16th century) Elaborately decorated in white slip under a blue-tinged, glossy transparent glaze; the interior impressed and inlaid in white slip in the cavetto with a large chrysanthemum floret encircled by successive bands of further florets within an outer triple-line border, and with a crisp band of peony scroll set in relief to the grey body of the bowl, and with a narrow band of stylized inlaid-slip foliage on the everted lip; the exterior of the bowl also decorated in white slip with a wide leaf meander between four slip-inlaid incised lines around the raised ring foot and a narrow foliate border matching the band on the interior rim; foot rim and recessed base unglazed 7 5/8in. (19.2cm.) diameter; 2 7/8in. (7.3cm.) high
