A PORTUGUESE SILVER TOOTHPICK-HOLDER OPORTO, CIRCA 1850, MAKER'S MARK PIERCED THROUGH Modelled as a figure emblematic of Oporto, holding in his right hand a spear and in the other a shield cast with the arms of Oporto, on cylindrical plinth engraved with inscription, above square base with four paw feet, pierced variously for toothpicks, marked on base 12 in. (30.6 cm.) high 21 oz. (645 gr.) The inscription reads 'Reprezentando a Cidade do Porto '
