A pair of silver Loving Heart earclips, by Paloma Picasso for Tiffany & Co., the polished silver ribbon hearts to clip fittings, signed and stamped ‘925’, accompanied by a signed suedette pouch, earclip length 20.5mm. £100-£150 Condition Report General light surface wear. The drawstring pouch is quite dirty and worn. Footnote Paloma Picasso (born 9 April 1949) is a French and Spanish fashion designer and businesswoman, and daughter of 20th-century artist Pablo Picasso and painter Françoise Gilot Paloma Picasso's jewellery career began in 1968. When working as a costume designer in Paris some rhinestone necklaces she had created from stones purchased at flea markets drew attention from the critics. Encouraged by this early success, she went on to train in jewellery design. The following year she presented her first efforts to her friend, the famed couturier Yves Saint Laurent who commissioned her to design accessories to accompany one of his collections. By 1971, she was working for the Greek jewellery company Zolotas and in 1980 Picasso began designing for Tiffany & Co. of New York.
