A PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD HOOP EARRINGS 1ST-3RD CENTURY A.D. The hollow leech-shaped earrings made from a single sheet with trim seam running along outer curve, the wire terminals twisted one around the other, ¾ in. (1.9 cm.) across av.; a pair of Byzantine gold hoop earrings with disc shield and granules along the lower edge, hung with a single wheel ornament with twisted wire and granulated border, 6th Century A.D.; a Hellenistic twisted gold hoop earring with terminal in the form of a female head with beaded collar, hung with a pendant gold spool-shaped bead and an ovoid banded agate bead, 3rd-1st Century B.C., all 1 3/8 in. (3.3 cm.) high av.; a gold and garnet earring with oval cabochon garnet inlay within a gold border hung with two pendant conical garnet inlays, 1 in. (2.5 cm.) high; a pair of Roman gold earrings with circular shields set with a red glass inlay with a rope pattern border, hung with triple gold bead and green faceted paste beads, one inlay and one paste bead missing; and a gold tear-shaped pendant with cornelian inlay and three small roundels set with green glass, all 1 3/8 in.
