THE PORCELAIN CIRCA 1730-35, THE DECORATION CIRCA 1740, ONE WITH BLUE AR MONOGRAM MARK, THE OTHER WITH BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK
A PAIR OF MEISSEN PURPLE-GROUND BEAKER-VASES THE PORCELAIN CIRCA 1730-35, THE DECORATION CIRCA 1740, ONE WITH BLUE AR MONOGRAM MARK, THE OTHER WITH BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK With flared upper parts, swelling central sections and flared lower parts, each section painted after Georg Philipp Rugendas on either side with a battle scene, including skirmishes, firing cannons, figures pleading before a burning town, soldiers in encampments and on horseback within elaborate shell-shaped cartouches edged in black and enriched with gilt lines and scrolling foliage, the sections divided by gilt bands, gilt line rims (both with restoration to upper part and central section, one with restoration to lower rim and chipping to footrim, the other with slight chip to footrim) 15 3/8 in.
