A PAIR OF LATE GEORGE II MAHOGANY DINING-ROOM URNS AND PEDESTALS Each urn with a pine-cone finial on a spirally-fluted cover enclosing a lead-lined interior, the slightly bulbous body part spirally-fluted and part-gadrooned above and below drapery swags and goatskin, the sides with horned and bearded goat-masks, each socle with an egg-and-dart top and three foliate-carved scroll supports, the plinth with a stepped square top with central giltmetal tap above a panelled front with re-entrant upper panel above a stop-fluted lower panel, the plinth base edged with a concave band of flowerhead-filled chain, one plinth with cupboard door enclosing a metal-lined interior for plate-warming, the other with upper drawer with removable lead-lined section and lower door enclosing a tambour cupboard and a deep drawer, one with paper label of INTERNATIONAL ART TREASURES EXHIBITION ASSEMBLY ROOMS BATH 1973 EXHIBIT No 103 (in ink), with two further labels of FINE ART PACKERS LTD. 9, HALKIN ARCADE, LONDON, S.W.1. 01-235-1983, inscribed in ink 103 HOTSPUR LONDON the plinths 22½in.
