A PAIR OF GEORGE IV SILVER SOUP TUREENS MARK OF BENJAMIN SMITH LONDON, 1825 Each circular, on four acanthus leaf-clad feet, the gadrooned rim and cover with conforming decoration, the handle cast as an Earl's coronet, side reed and tie leaf-clad handles, both sides of body engraved with an Earl's armorials, both sides of cover engraved with crest and coronet, the liners, Barak Mewburn 1829, marked on base, liner, cover and removable handle 14 in. (35.6 cm.) long over handle; 394 oz. 10 dwt. (12298 gr.) The arms are those of Montagu Bertie, 5th Earl of Abingdon (1784-1854) (2)
