A PAIR OF GEORGE II SILVER SNUFFER-SCISSORS FROM THE WARRINGTON PLATE MARK OF SIMON PANTIN LONDON, 1731 Of scissor form, with two loop handles, the box engraved with diaper work band and later with a coat-of-arms below an earl's coronet, marked inside each section, further engraved with scratchweight '4=8' 6 ¼ in. (16.2 cm.) long gross weight 4 oz. 7 dwt. (134 gr.) The arms are those of Grey quartering Booth and impaling Bentinck for George Harry Grey, 5th Earl of Stamford (1737-1819) and his wife Lady Henrietta Bentinck, daughter of William Bentinck, 2nd Duke of Portland whom he married in 1763.
