A PAIR OF GEORGE II SILVER DOUBLE-LIPPED SAUCEBOATS MARK OF FRANCIS NELME, LONDON, 1727 Each stepped spreading oval foot, with two short spouts, two scroll handles and reeded rim, each engraved four times with a lozenge-of-arms, each marked underneath, each further engraved with scratchweight 'pr 35=1' 8 1/8 in. (20.6 cm.) wide 32 oz. 19 dwt. (1,024 gr.) The arms are those of Welby with Towers in pretence for Mary Welby (1685-1759), daughter and heiress of John Towers, widow of Richard Welby (1658-1713).
