Beschreibung:

A pair of French early 20th century gilt bronze mounted rosewood, bois satine, tulipwood and parquetry side tablesin the Louis XV style
1900-1915, each of shaped outline, the top with radiating 'sun-ray' veneering within a shaped scrolled and floral inlaid cartouche, above one shaped frieze drawer, on slender cabriole legs, each: 67cm wide x 41cm deep x 75cm high, (26in wide x 16in deep x 29 1/2in high) (2)FootnotesThe twinned gilt bronze fountain and shell applied to the centre of the drawer on the offered tables are similar to a model appearing on a great deal of furniture predominantly made in France during the last decade of the 19th century and into the beginning of the 20th century. The design for this type of mount is believed to have its origins in the work of Leon Message during the 1890s.
This distinctive mount is generally found on pieces produced by Francois Linke and hence is more widely associated with Linke and his firm's output than with any other cabinet maker. However, it also features on furniture made by Joseph-Emanuel Zwiener and Maison Krieger.
