A PAIR OF FINE AND RARE IMPERIAL DOUCAI CHICKEN BOWLS YONGZHENG UNDERGLAZE-BLUE SIX-CHARACTER MARKS WITHIN DOUBLE CIRCLES AND OF THE PERIOD (1723-35) Each bowl delicately enamelled around the gently rounded sides with two groups, each with a long-tailed cockerel, hen and chicks cavorting in a garden setting and divided by sprays of flowering peony and asters growing from rockwork finely rendered in shades of underglaze blue, one before a papyrus plant, the other next to luscious plantain leaves, the interior with a central medallion enclosing a further cockerel and hen perched on rockwork amidst peony blooms and below a plantain tree 6 in. (15.3 cm.) diam. (2)
