A PAIR OF EMPIRE ORMOLU, BRONZE AND ROUGE GRIOTTE MARBLE FIVE-LIGHT CANDELABRA Of monumental scale, each with a standing Egyptian maiden supporting a lion-mask headed vase upon her head with removable flameing finial, flanked by scrolling branches decorated with Hieroglyphs and terminating in ram's-masks with Crescent-moons and tapering nozzles, the arms entwined with serpents supporting further fluted urn-form nozzles with arcaded drip-pans, the whole supported on a square plinth base with bas-relief panels of Egyptian masks and mythical beasts, on an acanthus-moulded plinth and a square base with palmette monopodia, the branches originally swagged with chains, one flaming finial with soldered repair and lacking drip-pan, the lion-mask headed urn-finial originally with handles, one with yellow chalk inscription '55186-x' and with typed paper label '28041' 38¾ in.
