A PAIR OF EARLY LOUIS XV GILTWOOD TABOURETS PROBABLY GERMAN, CIRCA 1740 Each with a rectangular padded seat covered in worn yellow silk damask above a rocaille and foliate c-scroll-carved pierced seatrail, on ruffle-carved cabriole legs entwined with serpents and headed by dragon masks, all joined by a ruffle and foliate-carved x-form stretcher, on scrolled and feather-carved feet, central finial to x-stretcher to one lacking, two dragon heads with later bronze paint and possibly replaced, regilt, with two earlier layers of gilding beneath 23in.
