A LARGE NAPOLEON III ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE THREE-PIECE CLOCK GARNITURE BY LEROLLE FRÈRES, PARIS, THIRD QUARTER 19TH CENTURY Comprising a mantel clock and a pair of five-light candelabra CASE: the drum case surmounted by Ceres supporting a cornucopia above Neptune and Bacchus entwined in a drape, on a rectangular base above acanthus-cast feet DIAL: the relief-cast dial applied with enamel chapters with pierced gilt hands signed 'LEROLLE FRES/PARIS' MOVEMENT: twin barrels strike to bell, with pendulum, winding key; the candelabra en suite , modelled with the figures of 'Pluto abducting Proserpine' and 'Boreas abducting Orithyia', respectively, supporting a baluster shaped stem with fluted nozzle and gadrooned drip pan, issuing four 'S'-shaped branches with nozzles and drip pans, on square bases with scrolled feet, variously stamped 'L' and 'LL' to the drip pans, nozzles and fixings The clock: 30 in.
