A large Japanese Kutani reticulated vase, late Meiji period (1868 - 1912 AD). Decorated with a pierced, honeycomb body painted in gilt highlighted iron red, revealing a central, cylindrical section decorated with a blossoming tree and chrysanthemums beneath a waisted necked incorporating panels depicting Samurai warriors to one side and and a still life of flowers to the other, flanked by handles modelled as gourds with leaves. Three character mark in iron red to the base (see image provided). 23.6 in (60 cm) height.
