A GROUP OF INRO Edo Period (18th and 19th Century) A four-case gold lacquer ground inro decorated in gold lacquer with two grazing horses and the reverse with a recumbent horse, black lacquer interior, late 18th century, some old damage and wear, a four-case black lacquer ground inro decorated with eight horses, a bead ojime and a wood netsuke of a frog seated on a conch shell, 18th century, damaged; a four-case gold ground inro decorated on one side with a parrot on a perch and on the reverse with a tasseled falcon by a pine branch, nashiji interior, signed Kajikawa saku , minor old damage, a small amber-coloured ojime and a stained ivory drum-shaped netsuke, restored; a small two-case black lacquer ground inro decorated in gold lacquer with blossoming branches by a rock, nashiji interior, 19th Century, minor rubbing; a single-case brown lacquer ground inro decorated in mother-of-pearl inlay with an ox and a man, the case with a fitted inner case, black lacquer interior, signed Suichikuken (Tsunehide), 19th century, slight old cracks to inlays and old wear; a four-case gold ground inro decorated with a celestial maiden in the clouds, nashiji interior, signed Nikkosai , 19th century, minor old wear, an orange and white agate ojime and an ivory gourd-shaped netsuke; a four-case hirame ground inro decorated on one side with a flowering cherry tree and on the reverse with maple trees, signed Jokasai , 18th century, slight old damage, with a carved red- lacquered ojime and a wood netsuke of Jurojin seated, holding a writing brush and a minogame crawling over him, signed Osen ; a tobacco pouch and a bamboo pipecase, both 19th century, crack 2.15/16in.
