A good late 18th-Century English tellurion, the 1½-inch diameter terrestrial globe JONES LONDON made up of twelve hand-coloured engraved gores with graduated equatorial, ecliptic and meridian and continents variously coloured, held at the correct angle beneath a brass night/day indicator, over a silvered circle with Zodiac scale and encircled by a small ivory moon ball running over an angled brass ring, all mounted over a lunar phase disc and various gear wheels to the central brass Sunball with ivory Mercury and Venus balls on arms and pointer to read off the scales on the 12½-inch diameter wooden horizontal plate with applied engraved paper entitled A TABLE of the principal AFFECTIONS of the PLANETS Jan; 1st.1794 Published as the Act directs by W. & S. Jones with various astronomical data and circumference scales for degrees of amplitude and azimuth, compass points, months and houses of the Zodiac, the edge painted red, with ivory and brass turning handle, raised on three short turned legs
