A gilt-bronze and Meissen porcelain mantel timepiece, Louis XV, circa 1750 2½-inch enamel dial, the watch movement with verge and balance escapement and signed Milard A Paris, the drum set in a framework of gilt-bronze foliate scrolls and finely modeled porcelain flowers and two monkeys, the rococo scroll plinth set with a Meissen figure of 'The Quack Doctor', probably after a model by J.J. Kaendler and P. Some very minor chips to the flowers. The gilt bronze in overall good condition. Original gilding with expected stains and dust. Some holes on the base indicates that some small ornaments are missing. The dial with a chip around the hole. The table and cup possibly later. Nevertheless attractive object in fair condition.The movement is a watch movement therefore it's very fragile and working conditions cannot be guaranteed. Sold as a decorative object.
