A GERMAN PASTE-SET AND ENAMELLED GOLD ROYAL PRESENTATION SNUFF-BOX by Carl Martin Weishaupt & Söhne (fl. c. 1837 - after 1870), marked, Hanau, circa 1880, with the Hanau town mark and 14-carat gold mark Cartouche-shaped box, the lid centred by a shield-shaped cartouche enamelled in translucent blue on a radiating engine-turned ground and applied with paste-set scrolling initial 'A' a Royal crown above for Albert I (1828-1902), King of Saxony 1873-1902, flanked by six silver-mounted paste stones surrounded by cast gold branches interwoven with blue enamelled leavage, the wavy baluster sides engraved with an ozier pattern interspersed with floral cartouches, the base centred by a reserve engraved with a posy of flowers surrounded by strapwork on an ozier ground framed by a border of small feathery scrolls, blue enamelled leaf and branch thumbpiece; original fitted black fishskin case 3 9/16 in.
