A German mulberry and gilt-brass mounted striking eight day table clock with pull quarter repeat Andreas Fichtner Dresden. Circa 1700 The case embellished with ripple mouldings, with handle to a pierced basket top decorated with designs of floral baskets and male profile medallions, with pierced frets to the front door top rail and above arched glazed side panels, the outswept base raised on brass bun feet, the 7 in. square brass dial with winged cherub mask spandrels to silvered Roman and Arabic ring with fleur-de-lys half hour markers, matted centre with date aperture, strike/silent lever above XII, black painted hands, the movement with five ringed pillars, twin chain and fusees, verge escapement and inside rack strike on bell, quarter repeat from both sides on three bells, the back plate engraved with flowers and foliate scrolls around a signature cartouche Andreas Fichtner/Dresda , secured to the case with turn catches; winding key, case key 17 in. (43 cm.) high, handle down
