A George III lacquered-brass Cuff-type monocular compound microscope, Dollond London ; late 18th Century the body-tube with eyepiece and objective, attached via a limb to main column, the column graduated 1-6 for the rack-and-pinion adjustment to the Cuff-type three-arm stage, with swivelling substage plano-concave mirror, raised via a compass joint from the base of the fitted mahogany carrying case, with a sprung stage attachment, substage cone, specimen holder, stage forceps, three large and seven small ivory sliders (each hand-numbered), frog plate, pierced body tube extension sleeve, ivory canister with slide-making glasses and retaining rings, a lieberkuhn and four numbered objectives and other accessories 29.6 x 13 x 13.2cm.
