A fine ivory fan probably Hungarian, 19th century painted on one side with alpine plants, the covers applied with openwork gold and enamel mounts painted with masks, birds and a crown surmounted by a pair of love birds and gem-set, marked; together with a fan of horn, the staves applied with a silk leaf, painted on one side with holly and mistletoe, signed H. Stauder, the verso painted with the royal arms of Bavaria and signed Duvelleroy; also combined with a fan of ivory engraved with the crowned monogram M I; a rosewood fan painted with the initials AR below coronet; an Empire fan of bone and ivory, applied with a thin leaf of vellum, painted with a mythological scene and a seascape; a tortoiseshell and Wood Grouse feather fan applied with the silver, crowned initial E; two further fans; and a leather covered box fitted for a fan by Faucon Paris, the lid tooled in gold with a crown Quantity: 9
