A Distinguished Service medal, dated 1944, awarded to Lieutenant Cecil Halliday, D.S.C, R.N, with two letters commending him on his 'outstanding skill and devotion to duty shown in H.M.S Faulknor in operations against enemy shipping in the Aegean' one example from Buckingham Palace, bearing the signature of George VI, together with a WWII medal group, comprising two 1939-1945 medals, the Atlantic, the Africa Star, the Burma Star, the Italy Star, and the War Medal, all with ribbons, a set of miniature WWII medals, comprising the George Cross, the 1939-1945 medal, the Atlantic Star, the Africa Star, the Burma Star with Pacific clasp, the Italy Star, and the War Medal, with ribbons, on a bar, and a signed letter bearing the signature of Winston Churchill addressed to Mrs Bone (formerly Mrs Halliday, mother of Cecil), thanking her for her 'kind message', which Churchill 'received and read with great pleasure'
