A Charles II pewter porringer, circa 1670 of typical form, the centre with a domed boss, the ear pierced with C scrolls and a lozenge to the tip, enclosing an oval with the owner's initials T.R. within sheild devices, the underside with the maker's touch with an indistinct date and the initials R.G. , and applied to the underside of the ear with a printed paper lable inscribed THE GENUINENESS OF THIS PIECE GUARANTEED BY MR HOWARD H. COTTERELL , and numbered in ink 1345 -- 5 3/8in. (13.7cm) diam, length overall -- 7¾in. (19.7cm)
