Converted from flintlock, with blued swamped octagonal sighted scratch-rifled barrels each with two gilt lines at the muzzle, case-hardened breeches and border engraved tangs, the latter each with back-sight, border engraved detented flat bevelled locks each engraved 'Manuf.re A Versailles', figured full stocks with chequered rounded butts and flat ovoidal pommels, border engraved case-hardened mounts comprising ovoidal pommel-plates, trigger-guards each decorated with a differing trophy on the bow and with urn and pedestal finial, engraved and turned ramrod-pipes, adjustable set triggers, original horn-tipped ramrods with steel caps, and retaining most of their original finish from the time of conversion: in later mahogany case refitted and relined in green baize with accessories including brass-mounted powder-flask embossed with a brace of partridges on each side, the exterior of the lid with shaped vacant brass escutcheon 20.2 cm. barrels
