A Cased Manhattan Fire Arms Co. Navy Model Revolver, Serial No. 7658, circa 1859-1868 blued octagonal barrel with fore-sight, marked MANHATTAN FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. NEW YORK., case-hardened loading-lever, frame and hammer, 5-shot cylinder with roll scene of five military themed vignettes, silver-plated grip-straps, serial number 7658 on barrel lug, on underside of frame, and on trigger-guard, varnished walnut grips, mahogany case partitioned and lined in purple velour containing a powder flask embossed with shell pattern, blued iron bullet and ball mold with MANHATTAN FIREARMS / MANUFG / CO. / NY, a package of 6 combustible envelope cartridges, caps tin WATERPROOF / PISTOL CAPS, / of the best quality / ELEY BROS. / Manufactureres. / LONDON 6-3/8 inch barrel Several variations totalling approximately 78,000 were made between 1859-1868 in Newark, New Jersey. This revolver, is known as a Series II of which approximately 10,000 were made (within the serial range 4200 to 14500).
