A 10 x 8" black and white publicity photograph by Otto Dyar of Shirley Temple on the phone in her bungalow at Fox Movietone City, signed "Love from Shirley Temple" in the young actress's childhood block handwriting (possibly with the help of an adult), c. 1935, credits and typed caption on rear, minor wear and creasing to edges, particularly to corners. Also included are a black and white photograph by Ray Jones of Janet Gaynor on the beach near Venice, California, signed by the actress and dated 1935 on lower right corner; an unsigned landscape photograph of Shirley Temple in bridal gown with the crew of HMS Danae and a photograph of the ship's crew taken on the set of the 1935 Fox film 'Farmer Takes a Wife' starring Janet Gaynor and Henry Fonda. (4) Provenance: the photographs were collected by the grandfather of the vendor, who served in the Royal Navy as a Petty Officer on HMS Danae during a tour in the USA.
