1993 BENTLEY CONTINENTALE R COUPE Châssis n° : SCBZB03D5PCX42583 Doté de performances impressionnantes pour sa dimension et son niveau de confort, la Bentley Continental R Coupé apparue en 1991 à Genève relançait la tradition du coupé au sein du groupe Rolls-Royce-Bentley. Elle associait l'élégance de la Continentale, version Bentley de la Rolls-Royce Corniche, à la puissance de la Turbo R présentée en 1982 avec le V8 en alliage léger porté à 6,7 litres et 330 ch. La Continental R de 1991 bénéficiait d'une succession de perfectionnements introduits au fil des années (suspension révisée en 1985, injection et ABS en 1987 puis échangeur air/air et injection Bosch Motronic en 1989 et Automatic Ride Control en 1989). Ce coupé (ou coach pour employer une terminologie plus classique) à quatre vraies places dépasse 240 km/h dans un confort parfait et une profusion de bois vernis et de cuir mis en œuvre par les meilleurs ébénistes et selliers du Royaume-Uni. Rare première main achetée neuve en France (facture d'origine Bentley), via une société de leasing, par un amateur qui l'a choisie pour remplacer sa Rolls-Royce Shadow II, elle fut utilisée comme voiture d'agrément jusqu'en 1996. Elle est ensuite restée dans la collection du propriétaire à Saint-Tropez. La voiture vient d'être révisée chez Paoli à Saint-Tropez, et les quatre pneus ont été changés. Elle affiche environ 94 000 km au compteur. L'intérieur présente une superbe patine et il est à noter que notre collectionneur avait commandé son auto peinte en gris avec un intérieur gris (Mushroom) et casquette de tableau de bord recouvert du cuir de la même couleur au lieu du noir habituel. Cette très séduisante et raffinée Continental R d'allure discrète avec sa calandre peinte et ses projecteurs ronds est accompagnée de sa carte grise française normale, du carnet du propriétaire, de sa trousse d'outils et d'une housse Bentley. The 1991 Continental R benefitted from a series of improvements made over the years (suspension serviced in 1985, injection and ABS in 1987, then the Bosch Motronic and Automatic Ride Control in 1989). This four-seater coupe (or coach, to use more classic terminology) exceeds 240km/hr in total comfort with an abundance of wood veneer and leather produced by the best cabinetmakers and upholsterers in the United Kingdom. Rare first-hand, bought new in France (original Bentley invoice), via a leasing company, by an amateur who chose it to replace their Rolls-Royce Shadow II, it was used as a pleasure vehicle until 1996. It has since been kept in the owner's collection in Saint-Tropez. The car has been serviced by Paoli in Saint-Tropez, and all four tyres have been changed. It has around 94,000km on the clock. The interior has a superb finish and it should be noted that our collector had asked for their car to be painted grey with a grey (mushroom) interior and the top of the dashboard to be covered in leather in the same colour rather than the usual black. This very attractive and refined Continental R has a discreet allure with its painted radiator and round headlights, and is accompanied by its standard French carte grise (registration documents), owner's licence, its tool kit, and a Bentley cover.
