Beschreibung:

'We wanted a car that was a new form. Fresh, exciting, purposeful but unquestionably Aston Martin,' explained Aston Martin Chairman and Chief Executive Victor Gauntlett on the Virage’s arrival, while stressing: 'It was important that, although new in virtually every way, the Virage was of evolutionary, rather than revolutionary, design. It has to be a car that could stand in line with every post-war Aston Martin and be the self-evident successor to that tradition.' Launched at the International Motor Show, Birmingham, in October 1988, the sensational newcomer re-stated its Aston Martin V8 forerunner’s muscular looks in the modern idiom, contriving to be slightly narrower yet providing increased interior space. The car was still no lightweight, but with 330bhp on tap courtesy of the trusty V8 engine’s new 32-valve top end, was good enough for a top speed approaching 160mph and a 0-60mph time of under seven seconds. This right-hand drive Virage with automatic transmission was has been fitted with the wider, more aggressive looking Vantage bodywork, as well as the wider Vantage wheels and tyres; this conversion having been undertaken in 2001 by Aston Martin Lagonda Works Service at a cost, confirmed by them, as in excess of £85,000. The vehicle comes with full Works Service history from 1990 to 2000 and was last routinely serviced at Newport Pagnell in May 2002 at 38,000 miles, though this was not stamped, while there is a further invoice on file dated 29th October 2003 at 41,549 miles for £2,226 for various remedial works. Finished in blue with mushroom leather interior, this well maintained, special-bodied Virage is offered with current MoT/road fund licence and Swansea V5 registration document.
