Le moteur de 3,0L est hérité en partie du moteur de la Carrera RS 3,0L. Avec l'adjonction d'un turbocompresseur KKK, c'est la version la plus musclée de la 911 affichant à l'époque 260 cv DIN. En 1977, la 930 gagne 300 cm3 et 40 cv, mais elle prend aussi un peu de poids. Les équipements plus complets et l'amélioration de l'insonorisation en sont responsables. La commande hydraulique de l'embrayage est aussi plus civilisée. La suspension bénéficie de nouvelles barres antiroulis, d'amortisseurs plus fermes et de barres de torsion arrière de plus grand diamètre. La 930 continue à se bonifier avec l'âge avec notamment l'adaptation d'un nouveau système d'injection et l'adoption de jantes arrières plus larges afin d'améliorer la tenue de route. La dernière évolution notable apparait en 1988 lorsque comme le reste de la gamme, la 930 adopte la boite G50 à 5 vitesses construite par Getrag. On peut dire que cette ultime version est la plus intéressante dans la mesure où elle vient couronner près de 15 années d'amélioration depuis la première 930. La voiture fut livrée neuve au Etats-Unis et, selon son rapport CARFAX, la voiture n'a pas été reportée comme accidentée. Achetée par un passionné de Porsche néerlandais qui a été impressionné par l'état général de la voiture, les pare-chocs disgracieux et les feux de rappels ont été enlevés lorsque la voiture a été importée au Pays-Bas. La voiture affiche 26 000 miles au compteur ce qui pourrait être le kilométrage d'origine au vu de l'excellent état de la voiture et de son intérieur. The suspension benefitted from new anti-roll bars, firmer shock absorbers and larger diameter rear torsion bars. The 930 continued to improve with age, particularly with a new adapted fuel injection system, and wider rear wheels to improve road-handling. The last significant evolution was in 1988 when, along with the rest of the range, the 930 was fitted with the Getrag G50 5-speed gearbox. The benefit of 15 years of improvement since the very first 930 has made this ultimate model the most interesting. The car offered is presented in grand prix white, with midnight blue interior. It is one of the very last 930s with the G50 gearbox fitted with sun roof. The car was delivered new to the US and according to its CARFAX report has suffered no accident damage.
