Beschreibung:

The Pininfarina-styled 308GTB was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 as a replacement for the Dino 246. It was designed by Leonardo Fioravanti who had been responsible for some of Ferrari's most celebrated shapes to date such as the Daytona, the Dino and the Berlinetta Boxer. In late 1980, Ferrari changed the 308GTB into 308GTBi, in order to respect the worldwide legislation increasing to reduce exhaust emissions. The ""i"" suffix in the model designation was referring to the fitment of fuel injection. The model remained into production until 1982, with 494 units produced, with both right and left hand drive available. On the interior the bucket seats had a different stitch pattern, whilst the main instruments were maintained in a hooded nacelle in front of the driver, the clock and oil temperature gauge were moved to a panel at the front of the center console to make them more easily visible in a separate panel on the lower left edge of the dashboard. The 288 GTO, also called the first Ferrari Super-car, borrowed much of the 308 GTB: it is also powered by a similar de-bored 2.8-litre V8 but with turbochargers, it retained the general bodywork lines with extended wheel arches, different side air vents, and bigger rear spoiler. Magnum PI did much for the 308 and rightly so, both were sex symbols of their time. A look much imitated and, with a fake moustache and a Ferrari, often carried off. As with most cars, buying a good one is a skill and requires research and experience. One shortcut however is to meet the vendor and get an idea as to his attitude to his car. The previous, but one, owner was not only a club member but deadly serious about his car. This can be seen from the history file, the works carried out over the years and attention to detail noticeable when the car is viewed. Right down to the Ferrari steering wheel cover. The history file details all the MoT test certificates right back to its manufacture, including a current one dated until June 2011, as well as tax discs neatly laid out. A Tracker system was installed in 1996 as well as a sophisticated alarm system. Standard maintenance takes place over the years with specialists such as Bob Houghton, Graypaul and Marranello Concessionaires at Egham. Significant works include a new clutch in 1986, new cambelts in 1988, 1997, 2000 and 2007, a full engine rebuild at Evans Halshaw in 2000, a full stainless steel sports exhaust system in 2008 and fresh front and rear brake pads just last year. The interior has been re-trimmed in high quality black nappa leather with red piping and matching black Wilton carpets. This includes the seats, doors, centre console, and roof headlining. The overall effect of which looks great and smells even better. Extremely competitively priced and with original tool kit, handbook wallet, car cover and extensive history file, this last of the truly sexy Ferraris is on the button and can be driven away. Moustache included.
