Elle a été utilisée régulièrement pendant une quinzaine d'années, parcourant à l'époque un total de 84 000 km avant d'être entreposée au sec à partir de 1989. Vingt ans plus tard, en 2009, le propriétaire décidait de la faire complètement remettre en état : menée à bien par un atelier agréé par Citroën à Milan, la restauration a duré deux ans et le total des dépenses s'est élevé à 50 000 €. Cette opération s'est effectuée dans un respect total de l'authenticité de la voiture et de son intégrité : aucun élément de carrosserie n'a eu besoin d'être remplacé ou réparé, seule la peinture ayant été refaite et les accessoires complétés. L'intérieur a été remis en état et, du côté mécanique, tout a été soigneusement revu : châssis, moteur, suspensions, pneus... De couleur sable métallisé avec vitres teintées, il s'agit d'une 23 ie avec la finition Pallas, le haut de gamme absolu en matière de DS. Celle-ci bénéficie en plus de l'option boîte manuelle cinq rapports et d'une climatisation "Autoclima". Elle est accompagnée de son "libretto" d'origine, ainsi que de son carnet d'entretien, de son manuel d'utilisation et du mode d'emploi de la climatisation. Un dossier de factures et un DVD permettent de constater le sérieux de la restauration, depuis laquelle la voiture n'a parcouru que 3 000 km. Elle a été exposée au salon Autoclassica de Milan, en 2011, et les experts italiens de la restauration de la DS se sont accordés à la considérer comme une des cinq plus belles DS d'Italie. Véritable jalon de l'histoire de l'automobile, cette grande routière hors du commun a ici l'avantage d'une présentation de haut niveau. The interior was refurbished, and mechanically, the car was completely overhauled : chassis, engine, suspension, tyres... Presented in metallic sand with tinted windows, this 23 ie finished by Pallas was the absolute top of the DS range. This example also benefits from the five-speed manual gearbox and " Autoclima " air-conditioning. The car comes with the original " libretto ", its service book, owner's manual and instructions for the air-conditioning.
