Beschreibung:

1970 MERCEDES-BENZ 600 LIMOUSINE Chassis No. 100.021-12-001722 Silver grey with grey cloth interior. Engine: 90° V8, single overhead camshaft per bank, 6,329cc, 250bhp at 4000rpm. Gearbox: four speed automatic; Brakes: front and rear servo assisted discs; Suspension: self-levelling independent and anti-roll bars. Left hand drive. In 1963 Mercedes-Benz introduced their 600 Series, a car that instantly became the world's most luxurious limousine and even today it is still considered in this light. The 6.3 litre engine was the first production V-type eight cylinder engine with fuel injection and overhead camshafts, enough to propel the big car to almost 130mph. Three production styles were available, from four-door limousine, Pullman six-door limousine and Pullman landaulette. Some 2,600 model 600s were built between 1963 and 1981 and the cars offered the ultimate in mechanical sophistication and luxury with such features as air suspension, adjustable shock absorbers, central locking, hydraulic boot opening operation, adjustable steering wheel, twin heating systems with air conditioning, rear seat bar and refrigerators. Suspension, too, was unique with heavy rubber airbags added to the four-wheel independent system, which were used to raise and lower the car. Automatic transmission was standard whilst fuel consumption was a remarkable 15.2mpg. This is a 1970 Limousine which has been in the same family from new, having been supplied to the present owner's uncle in August 1970 through the main Mercedes-Benz agents in Milan. The present owner purchased the car from his aunt and has kept it in excellent condition throughout. The car has silver grey paintwork with grey cloth interior, grey carpeting, light green leather dash top and light green arm rest trim. The indicated mileage now is just 56,650kms and the car is sold with a full Mercedes-Benz history, beginning with the supplying agents and in turn through the Mercedes-Benz agents in Lugano and, latterly, Geneva. It is sold also with all of its original documentation including the service pouch and guarantee cards, as well as an original Mercedes-Benz 600 brochure printed in Italian. Other features of this excellent example include an alarm system and black side curtains, as well as the optional air conditioning, Becker radio and centre console bar (itself with air conditioning to it!). Comfort and refinement are the hallmarks of these luxurious limousines and in this car there are rear foot rests, rear reading lights which were a further Mercedes-Benz option, magazine rack and also the Becker radio control in the offside centre pillar. The car has been used for just 3000kms a year and is in original condition and difficult to fault. It is registered in Switzerland. With its comprehensive single ownership history this particular 600 Limousine comes highly recommended.
