Beschreibung:

During the late 1960s the wonderfully nimble line of front-wheel drive Lancia Fulvia ‘Hi-Fi’ Coupes reigned consistently amongst the highest echelon of International rally contenders, driven most prominently by a galaxy of world-class stars. These originally 1298cc, 101bhp Coupes began to be campaigned by the Lancia factory team in 1966, and they achieved 2nd place finishes in the Monte Carlo and Three Cities Rallies, won the Team Prize in the Rallye dei Fiori, shone on the rugged Acropolis Rally in Greece and even scored circuit-racing class wins in both the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring 1,000Kms classics. The cars were uprated to 1440cc and some 120bhp in 1967, taking first and second places in the Spanish Rally and Tour de Corse, 2nd on the Acropolis and 6th in Sweden. In 1968 Pat Moss and Liz Nystrom won the Coupe des Dames in the Monte Carlo Rally and were 2nd at San Remo. Into 1969, 1.6-litre engines were developed and Kallstrom/ Haggbom won both the San Remo and RAC Rallies, and the cars took another 2nd place in the Monte Carlo classic, 6th in the Swedish Rally and 4th and 5th in the Alpine. Into 1970 Sandro Munari won the GT category in the Targa Florio, Kallstrom/ Haggbom won their second RAC Rally in Great Britain and Lampinen/ Davenport won the TAP Rally in Portugal. The Lancia Fulvia thus has enormous world-class rally and racing pedigree, and this particularly attractive example promises its new owner tremendously fulfilling fun behind the wheel. It was prepared in 1971 by Bosato to circuit-race in the Italian Championship and, fitted with a fuel-injected Fanalone derived engine (identified by its bonnet hump), was campaigned by the always enthusiastic Jolly Club. Two years ago, the car was prepared an Abarth specialist in Italy for rally competition, and since having been acquired by its present vendor – a great rally enthusiast – this lovely little Lancia has been completely checked by an Abarth specialist in Turin. As offered here it is equipped with a twin-40mm Weber-carburetted engine claimed to deliver some 160bhp on unleaded fuel, Dunlop disc brakes front and rear, four Tecnomagnesio competition wheels, a pair of Mirafiori seats, an authentic competition fuel tank and a rare 10,000 rpm rev-counter. The car is finished in Aragosta orange and is described by the vendor as being in perfect running order and essentially ready to race in numerous historic events.
