Its sophisticated twin-cam engine and five-speed transmission set it apart from the archetypal British MGs and Triumphs that were its nominal competition. The 124 Sport Spider was designed for sporting drives down the Cote d' Azur or the Pacific Coast Highway. The model remained in production for more than 15 years and became one of the most iconic and popular models of its generation.
