1966 Jaguar Mk. II (3.4 Litre) Lot Number155 RegistrationFLJ 558D Chassis Number170203DN Engine NumberKJ8597-8 Odometer reading75,282 miles Estimate£23,000 - £29,000 Print details Send this to a friend Contact us 2 more images Large history file Featured in the Jaguar Enthusiasts magazine in 2014 Synonymous with the swinging `60s and the hit TV Series Inspector Morse, the Mk. II was undoubtedly the most admired Saloon to emanate from Jaguar's hallowed Browns Lane factory. Featuring notably slimmer roof pillars than its Mk. I predecessor, the immortal Mk. II was as airy on the inside as it was elegant on the outside. The interior was quintessentially British with its sumptuous leather-covered seats, polished wood facia and door cappings, extensive instrumentation and impressive row of auxiliary toggle switches. These cars punched well above their weight. Equipped with either a 3.4 litre or 3.8 engine, the Jaguar was capable of sprinting to 60mph in as little as 8.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 125mph - small wonder that it was the first choice of both bank robbers and the police of the period. Originally registered on 3rd February 1966 this handsome Jaguar is finished in the delightful colour combination of red with contrasting tan interior. Sitting proudly on wire wheels this Mk. II has been restored which is confirmed by the large history folder. Having been featured on the front cover of the Jaguar Enthusiasts in 2014, this 3.4 Jaguar, we are advised, drives very well. Turn the ignition on, press the button and the engine fires up immediately, the manual gearbox operates as it should, smoothly and efficiently. Supplied with a V5 registration document, together with a full years MoT test certificate and a file containing old mot test certificates. An opportunity to purchase a well sorted, reliable icon which would grace any classic car event.
