Beschreibung:

This R60 is a rare 1963 slash 2 model with matching frame and engine numbers. It is number 346 in that year's production run of 392. Originally sold in California, it underwent a total restoration in 2007 by San Diego BMW guru Tim Stafford. It features flat Euro bars with the optional bar-end turn signals. Continuing the Euro look, the bike is equipped with a rare Pagusa solo saddle. Paint is traditional BMW black with white coach stripes. The Tim Stafford restoration is of excellent quality with invoices totaling almost $16,000. The bike comes with the original handbook and a period correct reproduction tool kit. The presentation has led to major awards, including Best BMW at the 2009 Heart of America Motorcycle Enthusiasts Vintage Motorcycle Show in Kansas City. This R60/2 was featured on the cover as Miss January in the Route 66 Vintage Motorcycle Association's 2009 Calendar. It won its class at the 2009 Harvest Classic European and Vintage Motorcycle Rally in Luckenbach, Texas and followed up with the Best Motorcycle award at the 2009 Westwood Country Club Concours d'Elegance in Austin. With only 1561 miles since restoration, this BMW is barely broken in. It comes with a clear Texas Certificate of Title, all previous awards and trophies and minutely detailed restoration billing. This is a classic BMW from the era when the company's ads told of legendary American Danny Liska riding his R60 from Alaska to Argentina. It can be ridden with confidence and is capable of competing successfully at the most prestigious shows and rallies.
