1962 FACEL VEGA FACELLIA F2 CABRIOLET Châssis n° FAE 146 La société FACEL, spécialisée dans la fabrication de carrosseries spéciales destinées à d'autres constructeurs, produisit ses propres modèles de grand luxe, les Véga à moteurs Chrysler, à partir de 1954. L'étroitesse du marché incita bientôt son responsable à créer une petite Facel qui reprenait les lignes élégantes des grands coupés. Il fallut trouver un moteur français et Pont-à-Mousson fournit un quatre-cylindres à 2 ACT de 1,6 litres et 115 ch. Les premières voitures livrées en 1960 ayant connu des problèmes de moteur, un groupe amélioré fut installé sur les Facellia en 1961. Les versions 1962 (Salon de Genève 1961) furent encore perfectionnées et la face avant modifiée reçut des projecteurs Megalux à deux optiques superposées. Malgré ces efficaces mises au point, les ventes de la Facellia furent insuffisantes, tandis que le service de la garantie épuisait les finances de la firme. Cette très belle voiture ne fut pas sauvée même par l'adoption du moteur Volvo. La voiture présentée, exposée sur le stand Facel au Salon de Genève de mars 1961 a été totalement restaurée en Suisse jusqu'au moindre détail. Bleu nuit avec intérieur en cuir gris passepoil bleu, moquette noire. C'est une rare occasion d'acquérir une belle et rare sportive intégralement française des années 1960 à l'élégance légendaire, avec un historique intéressant. The 1962 versions (1961 Geneva Motor Show) were then improved and the modified front end received Megalux headlamps with superimposed optics. Despite these effective upgrades, sales of the Facellia fell short, and servicing the guarantee exhausted the company's finances. This very beautiful car could not be saved even by the adoption of the Volvo engine. The car presented, exhibited on the Facel stand at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1961, was completely restored in Switzerland down to the last detail. Midnight blue with grey leather interior with blue piping and black carpets, it is superb and has its original wheels.
