Beschreibung:

Introduced in 1957, the Fiat 500 Nuova may be considered one of the first small city cars. Fiat produced their famous 'suicide door' 500D from 1960-1965. This was also available with the trasformabile (transformable) roof that folds all the way back down to the engine bay and was only available in lefthand drive format. This combination of fully convertible roof and suicide doors is very rare now and has become the most collectable version of the 500. We are delighted to offer this early Fiat 500D that features the suicide doors and the fully folding roof. What is apparent is that this car is, what is known as, an interim model and carries over some of the pre-series Nuova features. This was discovered when the door panels were seen to be different than the standard D items. This means that this 500 has a pre-series body, confirmed also by the lack of an ashtray upon the dashboard. Aluminium trims adorn the exterior, finished in the attractive colour of Aqua Marine, which may be described as in incredible original condition, featuring the original factory spot-welds on all four wheel arches, whilst the period matching interior presents very well. Imported into the UK from Italy in January 2017, this 500D is UK registered and has an MoT test certificate valid until January 2018. A dating letter from Fiat Chrysler UK Ltd. confirms that through contact with the Fiat Central Record Archive in Italy, that this Fiat 500D was built in Italy in1960. Not only does the Fiat 500 bring a smile to whoever comes into contact with it, it may be considered, that with so many Fiat 500s built, it requires careful research to find that rare model amongst the many, we think that this is that car.
