1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen tricycle réplique Sans titre de circulation Châssis n°81 - Collection Mercedes-Benz France - État proche du neuf - Exceptionnel hommage à la voiture de Carl Benz - Dans la collection de Mercedes-Benz France depuis l'origine Le tricycle Benz de 1886 est parfois considéré comme la première automobile de l'histoire. Tout au moins la première automobile de l'ère moderne, dotée d'un moteur à explosion et capable de couvrir une certaine distance entre les mains de son conducteur. Fabriqué sur un châssis tubulaire léger, ce tricycle était animé par un monocylindre horizontal à allumage à trembleur, et le mouvement était transmis aux roues arrière par un système de courroie et de chaîne. Cette mécanique était dotée d'un dispositif de refroidissement et de graissage. En 2002/2003, Mercedes-Benz a produit une centaine d'exemplaires d'une réplique exacte de cette voiture historique, destinée principalement aux magasins d'exposition de son réseau. Construite avec une grande fidélité, cette réplique était fonctionnelle et ne faisait aucune concession aux techniques modernes. Elle représente un hommage exceptionnel aux travaux des premiers pionniers et permet d'approcher les sentiments qu'ils ont dû connaître en mettant au point leurs premières machines. Cet exemplaire a été acheté le 1er décembre 2003 par Mercedes-Benz France, et il a été remis en route avant la vente. Étant fidèle à l'original, il ne peut pas être immatriculé pour la route mais peut être utilisé pour des démonstrations en terrain privé, procurant une expérience inoubliable. It was certainly the first vehicle of the modern era, powered by an internal combustion engine and capable of covering a certain distance in the hands of its' driver. Built on a light tubular chassis, this tricycle was fitted with a horizontal single cylinder engine with trembler coil ignition, and movement was transmitted to the rear wheels through a simple belt and chain system. The engine was fitted with a cooling and lubricating device. In 2002/2003, Mercedes-Benz built a hundred examples of an exact replica of this historic automobile, intended principally for display in dealers' showrooms. Extremely faithful to the original, these replicas were built to run, with no concessions made to modern technology. It is an exceptional tribute to the workmanship of the early pioneers and gives us an opportunity to experience how it must have felt to create these first machines. This example, bought on 1 December 2003 by Mercedes-Benz France, will be re-commissioned before the sale. Being a faithful replica of the original, it cannot be road-registered, but is suitable for demonstrations on private property. It promises to provide an unforgettable experience.
