Provenance: by descent, private collection Cardiff, Evan Jones who’s name appears on the back of the watch was the vendor's father’s grandfather’s brother who emigrated from Bryncrug, Gwynedd to Chicago, Illinois. Evan Jones worked in the ribbon department at Marshall Field and Company, commonly known as Marshall Field’s, an upscale department store in Chicago. Founded in the 19th century, it grew to become a large chain before Macy's, Inc. acquired the company in 2005.
