Holland is considered by many the greatest translator of the Elizabethan era. Titus Livius, 59 B.C-17 A.D., born in Padua of noble birth though an advocate for a republic, gives us perhaps our best view of ancient Rome, his lengthy history spans the founding of Rome to the death of Drusus in 9 B.C.
