Binding : contemporary blind-tooled calf over unbevelled wooden boards, outer border of a hunting scene roll, inner border and central compartment with an interlace roll, rosettes or leaf ornaments in other compartments and on spine, title tooled at head of front cover, evidence of 2 fore-edge clasps, probably an Augsburg binding, the tools not in Kyriss or Schwenke-Sammlung (somewhat worn). Reuchlin's Latin lexicon was one of the most popular of the 15th century. It was first printed in 1478 by Amerbach at Basel, where Reuchlin was then teaching. The tract De arte punctandi has also been attributed to Guillaume Fichet (cf. E. Beltran in Scriptorium , 39, 1985, pp. 284-91).
