Offered for sale is a 3.5L 1974 MG BGT V8 manual that has been with the current owner for the last 30 years. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 85 / 135.
Classic Car Auctions says: Super, well cared for, MGB V8..... Even in their darkest days, British Leyland managed to produce one or two gems and the short-lived, Buick-engined, MGB GT V8 of 1973-'76 is a prime example. Having been with its current owner for the last 30 years this 1974 V8, finished in Tundra with a complementing Autumn Leaf interior, has been maintained regardless of cost and is a true survivor. Affectionately known as "Roxy", ROX 933M was originally delivered to Timberlake of Wigan on the 28th of December 1973, and first registered on the 16th of May 1974 to its first owner in St Ives. It has never been restored, simply regularly maintained and cared for on an ongoing basis. Sensible upgrades include a 2 x 12v battery conversion and a stainless steel exhaust system. The MOT test was recently passed with no advisories. With performance better than a 2+2 E-type and nudging the DB6, these wonderful-sounding V8s are underrated and represent tremendous value in the world of classic British sports cars.
