Nine bijinga prints of various sizes and formats: the first a chuban tate-e attributed to Shigemasa, depicting a young girl with a hagoita (battledore) and two boys playing with a koma (spinning top) during the New Year; the second a chuban tate-e by Shunsho of Muttsu ni iwai-uta (No.6, Eulogistic Poems), from the series Kokin no jo waka rikugi (Six Types of Waka Poetry as Described in the Preface of the Kokinshu); the third, an oban tate-e by Toyokuni of Soshi arai Komachi (Komachi Washing the Manuscript) from the series Imayo musume Nana Komachi (Modern Girls as the Seven Komachi); the fourth an oban tate-e by Toyohiro, the middle sheet from the triptych titled Shichigatsu (Seventh Month), from the series Ryoga juni ko (The 12 Months by Two Artists); the fifth an oban tate-e by Goshichi, titled Shinmachi Kuken Izutsu ni oite (At Kuken, Izutsu in Shinmachi), depicting a woman dressed as a court dancer in the costume parade in Shinmachi, Osaka; the sixth an oban tate-e by Kiyomine depicting the courtesan Hanazuma of the Ogiya from the series Seiro shiki no uta (Songs of the Four Seasons in Pleasure Quarters); the seventh by Kuniyasu, an oban tate-e of the courtesan Yosooi of the Matsubaya; the eighth an oban tate-e by Utagawa Shunsho of Take zukushi (Assorted Bamboo) from the series Goshugi sangin (Three Songs for Auspicious Occasions); the last by Chikanobu, an oban tate-e bust portrait of a beauty from the series Jidai kagami (Mirror of the Ages); all variously published and variously signed, some unsigned; all in card mount. The smallest: 21.5cm x 14.7cm (8 7/16in x 5¾in); the largest: 38.5cm x 26cm (15 1/8in x 10¼in). (9).
