Contemporary "Etruscan" calf, covers with gilt roll border of pentaglyph and metope enclosing a stained border of classical palmettes, gilt roll of Greek key pattern and central tree calf panel, spine in 6 compartments with 5 raised bands, black moroccco gilt lettering-piece in one compartment, a repeated gilt panel enclosing a blind urn ornament in the rest, edges gilt concealing fore-edge paintings of KIRKLEES HALL, YORKSHIRE and WILTON CASTLE, YORKSHIRE (upper hinge in volume 1 and lower hinge in volume 2 cracked, corners lightly bumped); modern quarter leather folding case.
