Conrad, Joseph SERIES OF 12 AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED, 10 TO IRIS WEDGWOOD AND 2 TO HER HUSBAND RALPH WEDGWOOD friendly and personal letters dominated by World War I (“…the thought of this war sits on one’s chest like a nightmare. I am painfully aware of being crippled, of being ill & of being useless, with a sort of absurd anxiety as though it could matter to the greatness of the Empire.
